How We Help

Logo Pattern

The Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program helps beneficiaries better understand their Medicare Summary Notices (MSN), Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and confusing billing statements. Additionally, the SMP Program helps guide beneficiaries in addressing questionable medical charges and care.

If you or someone you know has received a Medicare Summary Notice (MSN), Explanation of Benefits (EOB), or a medical bill with questionable charges, we can help! Call the MA SMP Program at 800-892-0890 or email us at Help@MASMP.org.

We will guide you through the process of understanding and resolving your medical charges and ensuring that Medicare, other relevant insurers and the beneficiary are only billed and pay for appropriate services received.

Volunteer with SMP!

We invite you to join a team of trained and committed volunteers to counsel and mentor Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to become actively engaged in their healthcare. Become a volunteer and make a significant contribution in ensuring access to quality care and helping a fellow citizen to navigate the complexities of the healthcare payment system. We encourage you to take a stance.

MA SMP Materials:

The MA SMP Program offers “My Health Care Trackers” for free. These personal healthcare journals are a recommended tool for beneficiaries to record their healthcare appointments, procedures and other related encounters and experiences with healthcare providers.

To request free copies of “My Health Care Trackers” and/or SMP Brochures or Bookmarkers, call us at 800-892-0890, email us at Help@MASMP.org. Please specify how many. (My Health Care Trackers and Brochures are available in multiple languages. Please specify what languages you are requesting.)
